Contents: In this leatherworking workshop, we will create a handmade cover for a bullet journal, exploring basic techniques in design, cutting, punching, hand-sewing and finishing. The piece will be designed as a functional, durable and customised object, with interior space for three notebooks, elastic fastenings and pockets for pens, cards or small documents.
Throughout the session, special attention will be given to the possibilities for personalising and customising the piece, through the choice of colours for the base, threads, elastic bands and finishing details. We will also explore the value of handcrafting, the relationship between traditional techniques and contemporary design, as well as the importance of sustainability and the mindful use of materials.
Objective: Creation of a leather cover for a bullet journal, crafted and personalised by each participant. By the end of the workshop, each participant should be able to understand the key steps involved in making the cover: choosing the material, marking, cutting, punching holes, sewing, fitting the internal elastic bands and finishing touches.Ā
Requirements:Ā No prior knowledge is required. This workshop is for people over 14 years old.Ā The workshop is given in Portuguese but the teacher can provide support/guidance in English.
Materials included: all the materialsĀ to be used during the class are included in the registration fee.
Withdrawals/refunds:Ā the registration fee will be refunded to students who for some reason cannot participate in the workshop and communicate their withdrawal up toĀ ten daysĀ before the workshop date.
Location: Rua Maria Andrade, 50A (Lisbon)
The workshop will only take place if a minimum ofĀ threeĀ people sign up to participate. In the event that we donāt reach minimum attendance ofĀ threeĀ participants untilĀ fiveĀ days before the date of the workshop, the workshop will be cancelled and any participants who had signed up will be contacted for a refund, rescheduling (if possible) or shop voucher to be arranged. In the event that the workshop is cancelled by the tutor due to unforeseen circumstances, we will apply the same procedure: refund of the fee, exchange for a shop voucher or, should another workshop date already be booked, a rescheduling of the workshop.
